Last month, as part of the Bhoopala Bharatam festival organised by the Natyarangam Trust, I gave a talk on the contribution of the Thanjavur Marathas to the arts. I was pleasantly surprised to find a recording of it on Youtube –

There are some errors (it was an extempore speech) – Syama Sastry’s ancestors roamed around for 220 years and not 120, just to mention one. I also left out the role of Sarabhoji as a composer. But for what it is worth, here it is.
