The current repertoire of the Surati, khamas varnam, The caturdasa ragamalika, gAravamu all owe their existence to Swaminatha Pillai - directly and indirectly! 

I would also like to add that we only tell part of the story when we associate the Dikshita Kirtana Prakashika with &quot;First Tamil Script notation&quot;. While that part is definitely true, the perspective that it is the &quot;ONLY&quot; other set of notations from a branch other than that of Subbarama Dikshitar - Ambi Dikshitar line (which cannot be said of the later Tamil publications that came soon after!) frequently gets missed.]]></description>
